We work with a wide range of placement hosts including mechanics, builders, hairdressers, physiotherapists, dog groomers and travel agents – the list is endless.

Like employment, work experience placements start with an interview. The interview itself is an important part of the learning experience. The interview also enables you to meet the person you will be working with and see the work environment.

You will be treated as an individual and we will do our best to place you in an environment that will inspire and motivate you.

Work experience can help you to:

  • Gain a greater understanding of the world of work and how businesses operate.
  • Understand more about the skills needed for different jobs in order to make a more informed career choices.
  • Decide what kind of work you might choose when you leave school.
  • Learn what an employer will expect of you as an employee i.e. punctuality, dress code etc.
  • Develop ‘soft’ skills such as following instructions, answering phones, speaking to customers etc.
  • Build self confidence and self-discipline - many students appreciate being treated as an adult and respond well to being given responsibility.
  • Enhance your CV, create a network of industry contacts and obtain potential job references.
