We provide tailored work experience programmes and a dedicated service

Work experience offers students the opportunity to discover what life is like in the work place. Students learn new skills and gain greater self-confidence, self-reliance and maturity.

Work placement programmes help students appreciate how subjects taught in school are relevant to the needs of industry and business; and how school and exam success can help them attain their career goals.

Not all students thrive in the traditional classroom environment and some can become despondent with school and learning. We use extended work experience placements to inspire these students and provide them with a path back into education and vocational training.

We work in partnership with schools to establish the students’ training requirements and use the students’ interests to place them in tailored and effective work placements.

Focus Training provide schools with:

  • Constant support from a dedicated Placement Manager
  • Excellent relations with a range of local work placement providers
  • Appropriate and bespoke work placements
  • Management of school, students, placement hosts and parents/guardians liaisons
  • Health & safety induction for all students
  • Placement health & safety audits and paperwork coordination
  • Proactive and responsive management of all placement issues
  • Daily monitoring and weekly registers
  • End of term work placement evaluation reports
  • Student work placement Certificates of Achievement and Excellence awards
Extended work experience programmes give students the opportunity to work with businesses for one or two days a week for a set period of time whilst continuing their studies on other days.
